My youngest child is my most active. She is constantly on the move. She does theater with her school, and does dance outside of school. In the past, she has done tap, jazz, lyrical, acro, ballet, and hip hop. I’m fairly sure I’m missing a style or two, but it is difficult to keep up with it all. This year she has decided to concentrate on hip hop, acro, and ballet production. Acro gives her the ability to strengthen her gymnastic skills after she gave up gymnastics a little over a year ago to concentrate on dance and school activities.

For this year’s fall play, my kid made it to both casts. This means twice the number of shows. She had opening night on Thursday, and another show on Friday. I’m always amazed by how she shines on the stage. Saturday, she had a matinee and an evening show. She was excited. But these double show days are exhausting for most of those involved. That includes the parents in charge of making sure everyone gets where they need to be when they need to be there. As expected, she was super tired and ready for bed by seven. Watching her shine and seeing her joy makes it worth it.

The shows were great. The closing show was full of improv and ad libs. The cast enjoyed themselves and kept the audience engaged and laughing.

Next up at school is the musical. She will start rehearsals for that in November. Then she has a dance recital in December. She keeps me moving. And I love it all.
