Sometimes I think I am an enigma. My favorite animals are ones that most people would prefer not to deal with. Komodo dragons are beautiful and deadly, what could be any better? And squirrels are fluffy little rays of sunshine.

Komodo’s are the largest living lizard. They are often unable to bring down their prey with an attack, but their saliva contains bacteria and venom that will kill off the animal within a few days. Then the Komodo uses it’s sense of smell to track the kill and feast. They are just so damn beautiful in their violence.

Squirrels are basically just large rats with fluffy tails. But man are they fun to watch. There are more than 200 species of squirrels found all over the world, except Australia and Antarctica. My favorites are grey squirrels. But that is probably just because they are the ones I see and interact with the most. Squirrels can jump up to 20 feet, and based on some things I have read and videos I have seen, tend to land on their feet, no matter how far the jump, or the obstacles they face.
