So Applebee’s is doing a date night pass. It is $200 and there will be a limited number available. The pass will be good for $30 of food and non-alcoholic beverages only per use. The pass cannot be used more than once in a 24-hour period. Passes do not include tax, gratuity, alcohol, retail (including gift cards), or fees. There are other rules and restrictions, so read the fine print. Applebee’s Date Night Passes will be available for purchase only via this Applebee’s website page on Monday, January 22 at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET. A purchase button will appear on this page at sale time. Applebee’s Date Night Passes are NOT available for purchase in restaurants. https://www.applebees.com/en/specials/date-night-pass
This is a great idea and I wonder if it will lead to other companies following suit.
When you are overworked, and running light on funds, date nights can be difficult to make happen. I feel like this could give couples the motivation to get it done. Date nights are important for reconnecting and staying sane in a busy life.
“In the second edition of the report entitled, “The Date Night Opportunity,” married couples across the United States were surveyed about their date night frequency and only about half of couples (48%) reported that they go on regular date nights. The report also found that those couples who participate in regular date nights at least of at least one or two times a month report greater levels of marital happiness, stability, and sexual satisfaction than those who don’t.” (https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/date-nights-linked-to-stronger-marriages-more-sexual-satisfaction-according-to-new-study-301742711.html#:~:text=The%20report%20also%20found%20that,than%20those%20who%20don’t.)
With something like this date night pass, couples could find it easier to make the time to get that date night in. The date location is already decided, and the date is already (mostly at least) paid for. That takes a couple of big decisions out of the process.
All in all, I like the idea. I hope it works out for those who choose to participate. I would love to see other companies follow suit with their versions.
What do you think about this idea? Is it something you would consider participating in?
