My youngest and husband went to Rockies Fest today. It is a day dedicated to the Colorado Rockies and their fans. There are autograph opportunities, Q&A sessions, games, and many other things that I wouldn’t begin to understand.

I am not a huge sports fan, but married into a sports-obsessed family. My youngest inherited that. At least when it comes to baseball. She loves it. She collects baseball cards. She gets events like this, and game tickets, for gifts.
Today she was able to get a Todd Helton Hall of Fame ball and have it signed by some of the players. She hit in a batting cage. They checked out the production/broadcasting studio within the stadium. They toured the dugout. Got to watch some kids playing ping pong and foosball, but she didn’t want to participate.

Honestly, it was just a great daddy-daughter date, taking time to live in the moment in a place they both love.
After I picked them up we stopped so I could get some coffee, and my little bit taught me that there are correct light angles for eating a danish. She needed to sit right where she was until she finished it. That’s my girl!

What is you favorite parent-child date? Have you ever been to an even like this?
