21 hours ago, I received a call from my oldest. I had just dropped them off a little over an hour before. I immediately knew it wasn’t a good call.
When I answered, all I got in response was sobbing. With some coaxing, I was able to calm them down enough to let me know that their roommate had just been taken in an ambulance.
It’s not my story to share, so that’s all I will say about that.
What I will say is this – you are not alone, you matter, you are wanted. Please ask for help. Please.
Take a breath. Ground yourself. Reach out to a friend, a family member, or (and) a mental health professional.
I lost my brother to suicide in 2007. I’ve attempted. My oldest has struggled with ideation.
