Tonight I got home and found a delivery for me. It was from The Story of My Life Bookstore. I couldn’t remember ordering anything. Because my husband has been out of work, I stopped ordering anything for myself, especially books.

I was surprised and excited. Book mail is what it is all about!

In tears, I opened the box to see what some super amazing person had sent me.

As I went through the box, I found a car coaster, wax melts, an eye mask, a key chain, and a tumbler. But, as I found the books, I realized that I had ordered them months ago, like before my husband lost his job. There had been an issue with the production of the books or something, so the box was delayed. And, I completely forgot that I had even ordered it.

The entire box was themed for an amazing author, Samantha Baca, and her Dark Shadow series. I am excited to add these books to my shelves (even though it means I need to add some new ones).

I have decided that surprise book mail is the best kind, even if it is something I ordered and then forgot about! Tonight’s unexpected delivery from The Story of My Life Bookstore was a delightful reminder of the joy that comes with receiving book mail. Despite the challenging circumstances of recent months, this surprise package filled me with excitement and gratitude. As I unpacked its contents, I rediscovered a forgotten order of books and accompanying goodies, all themed around the captivating works of author Samantha Baca. This serendipitous discovery served as a testament to the enduring pleasure of indulging in literature, even amidst life’s uncertainties. So, here’s to the magic of surprise book mail and the unexpected moments of joy it brings.

Have you ever ordered something and then promptly forgot you ordered it? Was it a good surprise or a bad one?
