My favorite pair of shoes were a special set of tennis shoes adorned with vibrant teal and purple ribbons made of rubber on the sides, serving as a symbol for suicide prevention. These shoes were more than just footwear; they were a source of comfort and solace for me.

Every step I took in those shoes led me to a place of tranquility, where I could reflect on my brother’s memory with less pain. Their unique design, with the teal and purple ribbons, served as a constant reminder of the importance of suicide prevention and the preciousness of life.

What made these shoes even more special was that a portion of the sales went towards supporting suicide prevention programs. Knowing that my purchase was making a difference added even more meaning to every stride I took in those shoes.

I wore them everywhere – from hiking trails to long walks dedicated to raising awareness for suicide prevention. They were my faithful companions, accompanying me on countless journeys and adventures.

Sadly, these beloved shoes were among the possessions lost when my car was stolen in October. Their loss was deeply felt, as they were not just shoes but a symbol of hope and resilience. While they may be irreplaceable, their memory lives on as a reminder of the importance of supporting suicide prevention efforts and cherishing every moment with our loved ones.
