Daily writing prompt
Have you ever broken a bone?

During my childhood, I was a free-spirited wanderer. I’d venture out of the house early in the morning and would return at dusk. Growing up in the mountains, surrounded by various dangers, was quite an adventure.

Surprisingly, despite the risks, I never broke a single bone during my childhood escapades. Sure, I encountered my fair share of mishaps: stepping on a rusty nail while walking barefoot through the woods, cracking my head open on concrete, and slicing my ankle and leg while sliding down a waterfall. However, miraculously, my bones remained intact.

That is, until my senior year of high school. My friends and I were goofing around, twirling and holding hands, when things turned humorous. In a moment of misfortune, my grip slipped, and I found myself hurtling backward with my limbs outstretched, reminiscent of a cartoon character. It was quite the spectacle, and to my disbelief, I managed to break my pinkie finger upon landing.

Years passed without any further bone-breaking incidents, until one day, in a truly extraordinary turn of events, I managed to crack a rib while sneezing.

I suppose when it comes to experiencing life’s unexpected twists and turns, I have a knack for doing so in the most spectacular fashion!
