I can’t. I just can’t. I wanted to write a light-hearted post today. Something about working on yourself. About trusting your instincts, or how proud I am of y’all for every step you take, big or small. I wanted to remember that this world needs us, and we are all important. And we are.
The words wouldn’t come.
I’m so angry, incensed even. And so very sad.
The murder of an innocent woman is being disregarded by the people in charge. A young woman is dead, and her murderer is known, but going uncharged. A bunch of awful human beings are calling her a terrorist. Dragging her through the mud. Ignoring the video evidence. The MANY eye witness accounts.
I know that there are words that need to be said. I know there is a change that needs to be made. I know we all need to stand up and do SOMETHING.
But what? What can this little blog with its small viewership do? I’m at a loss for words. That isn’t true. I have a lot of words, but none of them are “acceptable” to write out.
History is rhyming, y’all. History is repeating itself. A lot of the people who asked how they could just stand by and watch that happen are doing just that now.
We need to be louder. We need to fight back in whatever way we can. If not, we will be just like them. Hell, we are well on the way already. You think Venezuela was just about oil? Nope. And it wasn’t about drugs either.
My blog isn’t about politics. It is about life. However, sometimes, life and politics are the same thing. We can’t ignore what is happening. Well, I can’t. I won’t tell you what to do.
If you made it this far, thank you. Please remember that crying can be good for you; it doesn’t make you weak. Anger can be just as healthy when handled correctly. Take care of yourself, whatever that looks like. I’m off to do some chores and then paint.
Some days, showing up honestly is all we can do.
When the world feels like too much, what helps you stay human?
