Daily writing prompt
What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.

I hate this question. The answer is so convoluted and difficult to answer without some serious emotions.

How many siblings do I have? Well. My dad had three children. I have an older half brother that I haven’t spoken to, by his choice, in more than 25 years. Then there is my younger brother, who took his life in 2007. So, none, two, one? I don’t know. But there is also the fact that I have gathered many chosen sisters in my life. I call them sister, I call their children my nieces/nephews. Does that mean that the answer to that question is five, six, or seven?

See what I mean? It is a complicated answer. Plus, the question always bring my little brother to the forefront of my mind and brings his death with it.

The situation with your 2 brothers is so very sad. I like the idea of having close friends become your family.

I don’t know where I would be in my life without my “sisters”. Many of them have been there right by my side in losing my brother, my mom, and most recently my dad. They help keep my head up, and my feet moving forward.
