May is mental health awareness month. If you’ve been following me for a while, then you probably know how important mental health is to me.
Not enough people take their mental health as seriously as they should. We should be caring for our mental health the same way we care for our physical health. They are equally important. In fact, poor mental health can affect our physical health. When we ignore our mental health, it can, and often does, affect aspects of our daily life.
As I’m sitting here trying to write this, I find myself working too hard to give y’all verifiable proof. Which you should have. However, I’m not in the right headspace, nor do I have the time, to conduct the research at the moment. That is how I’m caring for my mental health today.
I encourage you to work on improving your self-talk. Ignore, or try to, the voice that says mean things to you. Say nice things, positive things, to yourself each day. Remember that it is NOT a weakness to ask for help. Reaching out is brave, and sometimes necessary.
I post daily, or almost daily, affirmation videos on my TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook feeds. If thinking of affirmations doesn’t work for you, or you just want to not have to think about it, I encourage you to check those out. I will leave you with yesterday’s positive self-talk video.
